Qualifications
A Bachelor’s Degree in any of the following: Chemical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Energy Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Petroleum Engineering, Civil Engineering, Geology or equivalent qualification from a recognized university;
Membership in good standing of a relevant professional body, where applicable; and
Fulfilled the requirements of Chapter Six of the Constitution.
Responsibilities
Collection, collation, analysis, maintenance and dissemination data on coal operations;
Implementation of policies related to access to data on coal operations;
Undertaking technical audits of coal operations to ensure continued adherence to standards and codes of practice;
Receipt, review & processing of applications for non-exclusive Exploration permits, drilling permits, production permits, field decommissioning permits and any other consent under the law relating to coal;
Undertaking inspection and testing for any machinery or equipment used in coal operations and prepare a report; and
Undertaking verification of any measurements of petroleum production to allow for estimation and assessment of royalties and profits of coal due to the National Government and prepare a report.
