Job Purpose / Objective:

  • Manage the human resources policies, and processes to support the company’s workforce and contribute to the successful operation of projects.
  • Staff recruitment, employee development, compliance, and maintaining a positive work environment.

    Job Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Recruitment and Selection: Manage the recruitment process, including job postings, interviews, and selection of suitable candidates for construction roles.
  • Onboarding: Coordinate the onboarding process / induction program for new hires, including orientation, paperwork, and training.
  • Employee Relations: Address employee concerns, resolve conflicts, and maintain positive employee relations.
  • Performance Management: Support performance appraisal processes, feedback, and goal setting for project staff.
  • Training and Development: Identify training needs, coordinate training programs, and promote professional development.
  • Safety Compliance: Ensure compliance with safety regulations and provide guidance on safety-related matters.
  • Policy Implementation: Implement and communicate HR policies, procedures, and guidelines specific to the construction industry.
  • Compensation and Benefits: Administer compensation and benefits programs, including initiating the monthly payroll and benefits administration processing.
  • Workforce Planning: Collaborate with project managers to anticipate and address staffing needs for the projects.
  • Employee Records: Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee records and documentation.
  • Labor Relations: Manage labor relations, including interactions with labor unions and negotiations.
  • Coordination: Coordinate activities among various department to ensure smooth workflow.
  • Performs any other duty as assigned by the supervisor from time to time.

    Key Performance Indicators (KPIs):

  • Recruitment Success: Effectiveness in recruiting and hiring qualified candidates for construction roles.
  • Onboarding Satisfaction: Positive feedback from new hires regarding their onboarding experience.
  • Employee Engagement: Measuring employee satisfaction and engagement levels within the project workforce.
  • Training Completion: Tracking the completion of training programs and professional development initiatives.
  • Performance Improvement: Demonstrated improvement in employee performance through performance management processes.
  • Safety Compliance: Ensuring adherence to safety regulations and low incident rates.
  • Policy Adherence: Compliance with HR policies, procedures, and guidelines.
  • Compensation Accuracy: Ensuring accurate payroll processing and benefits administration.
  • Labor Relations: Managing labor relations and negotiations effectively.
  • Employee Records: Accuracy and completeness of employee records and documentation.

    Work Experience, Skills and Knowledge:

  • Recruitment and Selection: Ability to source, interview, and select suitable candidates for construction roles.
  • Employee Relations: Skill in addressing employee concerns, resolving conflicts, and fostering a positive work environment.
  • Performance Management: Knowledge of performance appraisal processes, feedback, and goal setting.
  • Training and Development: Identifying training needs and coordinating professional development.
  • Safety Focus: Understanding and promoting safety compliance in the construction context.
  • Policy Implementation: Ability to implement and communicate HR policies and procedures.
  • Compensation and Benefits: Knowledge of compensation administration and benefits programs.
  • Communication Skills: Effective communication with construction staff, managers, and external stakeholders.
  • Labor Relations: Managing interactions with labor unions and navigating negotiations.
  • Problem-Solving: Addressing HR challenges and finding solutions in the construction environment.
  • Time Management: Efficiently managing HR processes and meeting deadlines.
  • Adaptability: Flexibility to handle changing workforce needs and industry-specific challenges.
  • Professionalism: Maintain a high level of professionalism and integrity in all interactions.
  • Working experience: Possession 5 years of leadership working experience of which 2 years should have been obtained as equivalent capacity or supervisory responsibility.
