Abubaker Technical Services and General Supplies Assistant Measurement Engineer Jobs in Uganda
Job Purpose / Objective:
Contribute to the successful execution of the project by accurately measuring and monitoring different parameters related to construction activities.
Helps to ensure that the project adheres to design specifications, quality standards, and safety regulations.
Job Roles and Responsibilities:
Measurement and Data Collection: Collect accurate data related to earthwork, asphalt placement, concrete pouring, pavement thickness, alignment, and other relevant parameters using surveying instruments and technologies.
Quality Control: Verify that construction activities meet design specifications and quality standards by conducting regular inspections and measurements.
Documentation: Maintain detailed records of measurements, survey data, and inspection results. Prepare reports and documentation for project managers and stakeholders.
Coordination: Collaborate with other engineers, contractors, and surveyors to ensure that measurements are coordinated and aligned with project milestones.
Problem Solving: Identify and address any measurement discrepancies, deviations, or issues promptly to prevent delays and ensure construction quality.
Safety Compliance: Ensure that all measurements are conducted with strict adherence to safety regulations and guidelines.
Technology Utilization: Use various surveying and measurement technologies, such as Total Stations, GPS, laser scanners, and software tools to streamline data collection and analysis.
Communication: Effectively communicate measurement results and updates to project managers, engineers, and other relevant stakeholders.
Performs any other duty as assigned by the supervisor from time to time.

Measurement Accuracy: The precision of your measurements in relation to design specifications.
Quality Control: The number of discrepancies or deviations identified and resolved during inspections.
Timeliness: Meeting measurement deadlines and contributing to project schedule adherence.
Documentation: The completeness and accuracy of measurement records and reports.
Safety Compliance: Ensuring that measurements are conducted without compromising safety standards.
Collaboration: The effectiveness of your coordination with other team members.
Work Experience, Skills and Knowledge:
Technical Proficiency: Strong understanding of surveying techniques, measurement instruments, and construction processes.
Attention to Detail: Meticulousness in data collection and a keen eye for identifying discrepancies.
Analytical Skills: Ability to analyze measurement data and draw meaningful conclusions.
Problem-Solving: Capability to address measurement-related challenges and implement solutions.
Communication: Effective verbal and written communication skills to convey measurement results and issues clearly.
Time Management: Efficiently manage tasks to meet measurement deadlines and project milestones.
Team Collaboration: Work well within a multidisciplinary team, coordinating with engineers, contractors, and other stakeholders.
Safety Consciousness: Strong awareness of safety protocols and practices in construction environments.
Technology Aptitude: Familiarity with measurement software, GPS, Total Stations, and other relevant technologies.
Adaptability: Ability to adjust to changing project requirements and handle unexpected situations.
Professionalism: Maintain a high level of professionalism and integrity in all interactions.
Working experience: Possession 4 years working experience.
