Tatu City project Manager – Civil Work Jobs in Kenya

Responsibilities:

  • The role is to oversee the successful planning, execution, and completion of projects while ensuring compliance with standards, timelines, and budgets. This is done through effectively managing the set budgets and timelines, in conjunction with service providers (where relevant), and subsequent execution of development activities against these targets and eventual handing over.

    Other responsibilities:

  • To work closely with the sales team to identify projects and prepare approved budgets and delivery timelines.

  • Managing project plans, schedules, and budgets while ensuring adherence to timelines and milestones and overseeing project execution to achieve deliverables.

  • Assist in the design and specifications for the deliverables.

  • Leading and managing contractors and suppliers by assigning tasks and responsibilities and providing guidance and support to team members.

  • Manage procurement processes for materials, equipment, and services, negotiate contracts and agreements, and ensure contract terms and conditions compliance.

  • Monitoring project costs and expenditures, forecasting budget requirements, and taking corrective actions to address budget overruns or variances as needed.

  • Implementing quality assurance and control measures, monitoring construction and engineering activities to maintain quality standards, and conducting inspections and audits as necessary to ensure compliance and quality throughout the project lifecycle.

  • Ensuring adherence to health, safety, and environmental regulations and standards, implementing on-site safety protocols and procedures, and fostering a culture of safety and environmental responsibility within the project team and stakeholders.

  • Liaising with clients, stakeholders, and regulatory authorities, providing regular project updates and reports, and proactively addressing stakeholder concerns and resolving issues to ensure smooth project progress and stakeholder satisfaction.

  • Identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies, implementing comprehensive risk management plans to minimise project disruptions and ensure smooth project execution.

  • Maintaining accurate project documentation and records, and preparing and presenting project reports to senior management or clients to provide clear insights into project progress and outcomes.

    Requirements

  • Degree in Civil Engineering or related field.

  • Registered Engineer.

  • Minimum 7 years of relevant experience.

  • Proven experience in planning, monitoring and execution of projects.

  • Familiarity with quality and health and safety standards.

  • Proficiency in planning tools such as MS Project.

  • Proficiency in preparing detailed project status reports.

  • Experience of MS Office / AutoCAD

  • Outstanding communication and negotiation skills

  • Excellent Organizational and time management skills

  • Team Player with leadership abilities

  • Certification in PMP or PRINCE2 desirable

  • Strong leadership skills
