Job Profile
CHAK is seeking to hire an experienced Monitoring and Evaluation Officer – Analysis to be based in Embu supporting the CDC- funded CHAP Stawisha project. The project supports HIV/TB/OVC services in faith based and county health facilities across 15 counties in the country, with offices in Meru, Embu, Kitui and Nairobi.
Key Responsibilities and Duties
Collect, verify, collate, and report all data required for PEPFAR/ CDC, MOH and CHAK reports. This encompasses data cleaning and upload to DATIM, CPMIS and 3 PM on weekly, monthly, and quarterly basis.
Support in roll out and implementation of case-based surveillance (CBS) activities in facilities
Take part in county/sub county/facility data review and data consumption meetings and accompanying narratives are reliable and accurate.
Capacity building of project, MOH and facility staff in quality data collection, analysis, dissemination, and use of health information at county and health facility levels for program planning and management
Support the identification of case studies and human-interest stories for inclusion in periodic progress reports to the donor, CHAK, and stakeholders.
Instill a culture of data demand and use, including the provision of routine high-level statistical analyses for program evidence-based decision making and adaptability.
Strengthen use of visualization and analytics, at program county and facility level to improve program performance, data quality and use.
To provide support in the development and application of M&E Tools in the project.
Facilitate implementation of EMR and HIS products at implementing sites as approved by the Project and MOH and ensure technical support is provided as needed.
Support technical M&E needs at implementing facilities and at program level.
Collaborate with County Health Management Teams (CHMTs) and County Department of Children Services (CDCS) to conduct routine data quality audit (DQA)/validation, provide targeted feedback to improve data quality and follow up on data quality improvement plans (DQIP) in all the supported sites.
Ensure DDIU Trend analysis are routinely disseminated and encourage use of them at both central, regional and health facilities’ levels.
Conduct data analysis for patient level data for abstract and manuscript development for presentation in local and international conferences, publications
Provide inputs and technical support in design and deployment of HMIS and M&E Tools.
Any other lawful duties as assigned by your supervisor within the scope and nature of this position.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Biostatistics or Epidemiology, health informatics, Information Science, or other relevant health-related degree from an accredited university.
A Masters’ degree in epidemiology or biostatistics will be an added advantage.
Experience of at least five (5) years in Monitoring and Evaluation in PEPFAR programs
Proven experience in survey and research tool design, data collection, statistical analysis, qualitative research, and dissemination of results
Experience in the use of PEPFAR programs M&E systems and platforms like DATIM, KHIS2 and KenyaEMR, to support a learning agenda and evolve a theory of change to maximize impact.
Experience in planning, implementing, and monitoring of M&E activities with CHMTs.
Understanding of Kenya Health Systems
Expertise in MS office suite – Excel, Access & PowerPoint), Data visualisation tools like Power-BI
Expertise in the use of Statistical tools like SAS, Stata, R or SPSS
Strong knowledge and experience in supporting Collaborative, Learning, and Adaptation (CLA) processes.
