Asian Development Bank (ADB) is currently seeking applications from eligible applicants for the post of Senior Economist (Gender) in Manila, Philippines. The duration of this post is 3 years.

Key Jobs Responsibilities
The Senior Economist (Gender) will perform the following functions-
- Economic Research and Operational Support
- Undertake applied economic research on gender-related topics in support of OP2, with an emphasis on analytical and policy-relevant empirical studies linked to the department’s current research priorities which include economic integration; poverty and inequality; digital economy; macro and financial stability; climate change and sustainable development; and skills and the future work.
- Lead the design and implementation of research outputs and publications, including ADB’s flagship publications, thematic reports, policy briefs, working papers, and publications in peer-reviewed journals
- Provide technical and analytical support to ADB operations, including collaborating with ADB operational departments and country offices, reviewing institutional documents, and participating in review meetings and operational missions, bringing in gender equality analysis and data, as necessary.
- Project Management
- Oversee and carry out the design, implementation and administration of technical assistance projects for DMCs on empirically rigorous economic analysis of gender issues.
- Knowledge Management
- Contribute substantially to the dissemination of ADB knowledge outputs and publications.
Support the capacity building work of ERCD and GEN-TG. - Undertake collaborative research, dissemination, networking, and capacity building activities with specialists across a global network of knowledge institutions and with other ADB knowledge and operations departments.
- Contribute substantially to the dissemination of ADB knowledge outputs and publications.
Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must have:
- Post-graduate degree (preferably Doctorate level) in Economics or related fields, (with gender equality as one of the research areas highly desirable) and at least 5 years specialized experience relevant to the position may be considered.
- At least 10 years of relevant professional experience in conducting independent research on gender-related topics, with international experience working in several countries.
- Evidence of high-quality research output and track record of gender equality-related publications in international peer-reviewed professional journals, with a preference for publications on gender equality in developing economies.
- Strong quantitative, analytical, and conceptual skills on gender and economics.
- Good understanding of ADB’s institutional context, strategies, priorities, and objectives.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills in English, including tailoring for different formats and audiences.
- Ability to work in teams, on a variety of topics, and to tight deadlines.
- Demonstrated client orientation and good interpersonal skills.
