United Nations International Children’s Emergency Fund (UNICEF) is currently seeking applications from eligible applicants for the post of Programme Officer – Field Coordinator in Zwedru, Liberia.

Key Jobs Responsibilities

The Programme Officer – Field Coordinator will perform the following functions:

  • Facilitate Coordination and Collaboration of UNICEF Programming:
    • Establish and maintain effective high-level coordination with County superintendents, local government authorities, implementing partners, and other partners involved in implementation of UNICEF programmes.
    • Participate in relevant multi-stakeholders’ meetings, activities and others as needed, in consultation with supervisor.
  • Facilitate Technical and Programmatic Support:
    • Provide guidance, and facilitate technical and Programmatic Support to UNICEF Partners and Counterparts in implementation of UNICEF field activities.
    • Undertake regular field visits to UNICEF project areas, to assess local conditions and monitor project progress and resources utilization.
    • Provide coordination and facilitation support to County Health Teams and other Government counterparts at the county level, partners as well as NGOs to ensure complementary linkages between (UNICEF-supported) services, information provision.
    • Facilitate the provision to technical capacity building of implementing partners including NGOs, and local authorities, in programme implementation, monitoring and reporting.
  • Effective Data Management and Programme Monitoring:
    • In coordination with PME, review programme progress on a regular basis and flag implementation challenges with programme technical leads.
    • Provide technical support for strengthening data management, monitoring, evaluation and documentation of activities by highlighting the contribution and efforts of UNICEF.


      In collaboration with partners and key stakeholder, facilitate monitoring the situation of children at the county level.

Eligibility Criteria

Applicants must have:

  • University degree preferably, graduate or master’s degree in one of the following fields is required: Social Sciences, International Relations, Government, Public Administration, Public Policy, Social Policy, Social Development, Community Development, or another relevant technical field.
  • Minimum 4 years of relevant professional work experience is required.
  • Experience working at field level in Liberia or another developing country is considered as an asset.
  • Background/familiarity with emergency is considered as an asset.
  • Fluency in English is required.
  • Knowledge of another official UN language (especially French) and fluency in the local languages of the duty station is considered as an asset.
  • Nationality of Liberia.
