while driving I was on my way home from work one night and I took a shortcut through this really dark, wooded area. It was a shortcut that I had taken many times before without any issue. But this time, for some reason, I started to feel really uneasy. The hair on the back of my neck stood up and I had this overwhelming feeling that someone was watching me. I tried to shake it off and just focus on getting home, but the feeling only got stronger. I started to drive faster, but no matter how fast I went, I couldn’t shake the feeling that something was following me. And then I saw it. There was a figure in the road ahead of me, just standing there in the middle of the road. I slammed on my brakes and came to a screeching halt, but when I looked again, the figure was gone. There was nothing there. I sat in my car for a few minutes, trying to calm myself down and rationalize what had just happened. Maybe it was just a trick of the light or something But whatever it was, it scared the hell out of me and I haven’t taken that shortcut since.
