Uganda Cancer Institute Senior Procurement Officer Jobs

Job Purpose:

To coordinate, monitor and provide technical support in the implementation of Procurement and Disposal of Assets function for an entity to ensure value for money.

Qualification:

An Honors Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management/ BCOM/BBA with specialization in Procurement and Supply Chain Management. OR An

Honors Bachelor’s Degree in Commerce or Business

Administration or Economics plus full professional

qualifications in Supply Chain Management from a

recognized Institution. OR Full professional

qualification/membership from recognized

institutions;

At least a minimum of 3 (Three) years of relevant working experience at Procurement Officer Level in a Government or an equivalent level of experience in Procurement work from a reputable organization.

Proactive; Decision-making and Problem-solving and

Leadership

Duties & Responsibilities:

To coordinate, monitor and assess implementation of procurement and disposal of assets policies and

guidelines and make appropriate recommendations.

To develop appropriate internal procurement and disposal of assets controls and procedure consistent with the legal and regulatory framework.

To prepare bids for high value and specialized

procurements and disposals and, participate in

evaluation process.

To prepare, administer and issue approved contracts.

To liaise with stakeholders to ensure timely delivery of goods and services.

To liaise with User Departments to provide information required for the procurement plans.

To prepare Statement of Requirements (Bill of

Quantities)

To supervise, mentor, coach and evaluate performance of subordinate staff.

To inspect and establish progress on contract

implementation.

To prepare contract performance status reports
