Uganda Cancer Institute Counsellor Jobs
Job Purpose:
To provide technical support in the formulation and implementation of Policy, guidelines and standards related to provision of counselling services to patients of the Institute.
Qualification:
Must hold an Honors Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work and Social Administration (SWASA), Social Sciences or Psychology from a recognized University/Institution.
A postgraduate qualification in Psycho-social support or Health Systems Management.
Should have six (6) years’ working experience three (3) of which should be at the level of Senior counsellor in health facility.

Planning, organizing and coordinating; Information Communication Technology (ICT); Human resource management; Teamwork; Communicating effectively; Concern for quality and standards; Results-oriented and Networking.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Planning and budgeting for counselling activities in the Institute and / or its branches.
Participate in the development of Policy Guidelines and Standards counselling Services at the Institute.
Interviewing patients and relatives to assess their social needs.
Offering psycho-social support, social care and emotional therapy to patients.
Participating in research activities.
Carrying out home follow-up visits to patients.
Managing and accounting for the resources allocated for counselling activities.
Reports compiled and submitted.
Any other duties assigned.
