Uganda Cancer Institute Consultant — Medical Oncology/ Hematology Jobs
Job Purpose:
To ensure efficient management of Medical Oncology and Hematology services in the Institute and the Regional Cancer Centers.
Qualification:
MBChB Degree or its equivalent from a recognized University or Institution.
A Master of Medicine Degree in Internal Medicine or its equivalent from a recognized University or Institution.
Sub-specialisation/Fellowship in Medical Oncology
Registration with the Uganda Medical and Dental Practitioners Council.
Working experience of not less than six (6) years at specialist level, three (3) of which must be at the level of Medical Officer Special Grade (Pediatrics Surgery)
Key competencies
The incumbent should have competences in: Planning, organizing and coordinating; Financial Management; Human Resource Management; Change Management; Coaching and mentoring; Effective communication; Knowledge management; Ethics and Integrity; Leadership; Team work and Time management.
Duties and Responsibilities
Responsible for ensuring efficient management of services in his/her specialization at the Hospital and the catchment area covered by the Hospital.
Supervise and mentor Senior House Officers, Medical Officers, Interns and other Health Professionals under him/her.
Plan and coordinate training programmes of Health Professionals under him/her.
Plan and coordinate Continuous Professional
Development (CPD) in his/her specialty, for Health
professionals at the Hospital and the catchment area.
Provide technical and professional advice in his/her area of specialization to Government and the Hospital.
Perform any other duties as may be assigned from time to time.
