British High Commission Plumber AA Jobs in Malawi
Main purpose of job:
Carry out general maintenance work in all High Commission properties, working to agreed maintenance programmes and responding to emergency requests as required, to standards required by UK Foreign and Commonwealth Development Office guidelines.
Roles and responsibilities:
Daily maintenance of all Plumbing fixtures and systems throughout the Estate
Take instruction from Maintenance team leader on basic plant maintenance
Plumbing duties to include daily checks and maintenance of all plumbing fixtures, inspection of water lines, sewer lines, gas lines, and purchase and installation of white goods
Basic HVAC skills to include, visual inspection and minor repairs to exhaust fans, AHU, Fan coils, chillers, boilers, cooling towers. Grease motors and bearings, Change filters and belts, and visually inspect equipment for water, gas, oil leaks. Check seals and couplings for wear
Liaise with local contractors on larger servicing requirements
Carrying out monthly check of the geysers in all properties
Carrying monthly service to the water pumps and tanks in all residential and non-residential properties
Carrying out weekly consumption of water in all properties
Work with Maintenance Team Leader on implementation of a preventative maintenance schedule for all related equipment
Ensure all work orders are completed on time and work closely with key stakeholders to deliver full customer satisfaction
Become an integral member of the Maintenance Team to perform basic plumbing duties and other duties when required
Ensure Foreign Commonwealth Office and local Health & Safety standards are applied
Ensuring proper gathering and documentation of necessary service call details before attending, during feedback period and after closing the call-out
Creating schedules for quarterly tank cleaning, water testing and any other scheduled works to be shared with contractors and Occupants before operation dates and keeping records for Property compliance actions
Organising and schedule meetings and appointments of plumbing works with Lilongwe water board, Occupants or Maintenance team leader
Essential qualifications, skills and experience
At least 3 years previous experience in plumbing or facility management role to include maintenance
Technical Craft Certificate or proven experience
Qualification in plumbing
Good spoken English Language both verbal and written
Basic computer literacy
Desirable qualifications, skills and experience
Valid Malawi driving license
