British High Commission Electrician AA Jobs in Malawi
Main purpose of job:
Carry out general maintenance work in all High Commission properties, working to agreed maintenance programmes and responding to emergency requests as required, to standards required by UK Foreign and Commonwealth Development Office guidelines.
Roles and responsibilities:
Work with the Maintenance Team Leader to ensure that all planned and reactive maintenance for office and residential property is completed on time in a compliant manner.
Ensure that UK health and safety standards are met at all times.
Identify preventative and reactive works required, informing the Maintenance team leader on a timely basis.
Complete required administration to ensure that accurate records are maintained.
Ensure all technical and other accreditation required for role is maintained and documented.
Support other members of the maintenance team as required.
Be in charge of the storage room’s inventory, tools controls management, as well as the materials, etc.
Take weekly electricity consumptions reading
Be responsible for the maintenance of all electrical boards as well as maintaining ongoing, good housekeeping of the electrical rooms
Be responsible for Generator maintenance and service schedules.
Essential qualifications, skills and experience
Previous experience as an Electrician
Good organisational skills
Trade test certificate in related field or any electrical engineering certificate from a recognised institution
Excellent inter-personal and communication skills
Ability to complete work to a high standard under pressure with a focus on attention to detail and customer service
Desirable qualifications, skills and experience
Valid Malawi driving license
