Purpose of Job
To lead, manage and give direction to all Sales activities within the Inland Region in order to deliver on the short term and long-term targets of revenue, gross margin, fixed costs, working capital and customer satisfaction, within a framework of safety and compliance.
Recruitment Description / Key Accountabilities
• Deliver on revenue targets across all product lines and customers and across designated geographic regions of responsibility.
• Deliver on sales volume targets across all product lines and across designated geographic regions of responsibility.
• Deliver on pricing targets for product lines and across designated geographic regions, measures against competitive benchmarks.
• Deliver on market share targets for all product lines across designated geographic region.
• Deliver on gross margin targets for all product lines and customers in designated geographic regions.
• Contribute to meeting working capital targets: reduction of DSO and inventory management and demand forecast accuracy.
• Manage cash fixed costs within budget guidelines and within governance and compliance requirements.
• Drive the commercial strategy at major/key accounts in designated geographic regions.
• Set standards for customer service and drive the service delivery.
• Drive the integration of marketing and sales teams to extract synergies and optimise resources.
• Drive a culture of inclusiveness among sales personnel within area of responsibility and the wider team.
• Promote the development of sound and mutually beneficial relations with customers.
• Develop and implement processes and systems that ensure sound governance and compliance.
• Create an environment of high morale and maintain motivation levels among the sales team.
• Identify and nurture talent; create an environment which rewards high performance and exemplary value-based
behavior.
• Set performance standards and set clear expectations with the sales team in the area of responsibility.
• Agree well defined performance contracts (KPI) and ensure effective performance management.
• Design and direct the portfolios of account managers and export account managers.
• Set the sales strategy for the products and market applications in the portfolio.
• Support the personal growth and development and retention of high performance individuals.
• Identify opportunities to balance skills, thus optimizing organisational structure, work flow, and efficiency/effectiveness.
• Carry out development plans and succession planning where necessary.
• Identify personal performance gaps and implement plans to close the gaps.
• Encourage new ways of working and embracing technology and digitization to enable the Objectives of the business and Future Sasol.
• Drive consistency in the application of performance standards.
• Encourage decision making that drives the business objectives.
• Drive the achievement of sound customer relationships which are mutual beneficial.
• Build effective working relationship with key customers as defined in the KAMES
