Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Financial Controller to join our team at Yalelo Uganda. As a Financial Controller, you will be responsible for overseeing the financial activities, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and efficiency in financial operations. This is a key leadership role that requires strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
In this role, you will directly oversee financial operations, treasury, reporting, tax, and regulatory compliance.
Reporting to the Head of Finance, the right-fit candidate will;
Provide leadership in all aspects of financial accounting & reporting to the finance team and ensure all financials follow IFRS and group reporting guidelines.
Implement an internal control framework to ensure operations integrity.
Implement and monitor adherence to the financial strategy of the business through implementing and administering the appropriate policies and procedures in all areas of financial operations, covering payroll, accounts payable, financial accounting, management accounting, and treasury.
Prepare monthly Country packs for executive management review and provide relevant analysis and insight on monthly financial performance.
Coordinate and manage external financial audits.
Monitor business financial condition through ensuring compliance to group financial standards and policies, and through managing the internal and external audit processes.
Manage the accounts receivable and accounts payable books, inventory, and cash to optimize working capital in accordance with the business’s financial goals. Manage all relationships with the banks, and all treasury functions within the business
Understanding and conducting operations based on statutory, regulatory, and common law rules applicable to the organization and its line of business
Required Technical Skills, Training & Experience
Master’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
7 years’ experience in financial reporting or management accounting in an FMCG or manufacturing industry
Professional qualification, CPA or ACCA is mandatory.
Understanding Microsoft D365 is a plus.
Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial regulations, and IFRS.
Good attention to detail and accuracy.
Excellent communicator, capable of seamlessly liaising with internal and external stakeholders on a constant basis.
Clear demonstration of a sense of urgency and energy in achieving set goals.
Ability to meet deadlines and to work independently or as a team member.
Strong sense of personal integrity.
Team building, coaching, mentoring, motivation and inspiring.
Effective Communication between senior management and departmental heads.
Collaboration and partnering with other departments and functional teams.
