Job Summary

Our client is a leading shipping and logistics company that provides efficient and reliable transportation solutions to clients worldwide. We are looking for a dedicated and detail-oriented Operations/Transport/Equipment Coordinator to join our team. In this role, you will play a vital part in ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of our logistics and transportation services.

Key Responsibilities:

Transportation Coordination:

  • Coordinate the scheduling and dispatch of transportation vehicles, including trucks, ships, or planes, to ensure timely delivery of goods to customers.
  • Monitor transportation routes, track shipments, and communicate updates to clients and internal teams.
  • Optimize transportation routes to minimize costs and improve efficiency.

    Equipment Management:

  • Maintain accurate records of all transportation equipment, including trucks, containers, and other assets.
  • Schedule and oversee equipment maintenance and repairs to ensure safety and reliability.
  • Manage equipment inventory and procurement as needed.

    Operations Support:

  • Collaborate with various departments, including logistics, warehousing, and customer service, to ensure seamless operations.
  • Address operational issues promptly and develop solutions to optimize processes.
  • Assist in tracking and managing inventory levels to meet customer demands.

    Documentation and Compliance:

  • Ensure all necessary transportation and compliance documents are complete and up to date.
  • Maintain awareness of industry regulations and ensure compliance with transportation and safety standards.
  • Prepare reports and documentation for audits and regulatory inspections.

    Customer Service:

  • Respond to customer inquiries and concerns related to transportation and equipment.
  • Provide exceptional customer service and work to resolve issues promptly.

    Cost Control:

  • Monitor transportation and equipment-related expenses, identifying opportunities for cost-saving measures.
  • Assist in budget management related to transportation and equipment operations.

    Emergency Response:

  • Develop and implement emergency response plans to address transportation or equipment-related incidents or emergencies.

    Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business, or related field (preferred).
  • Minimum 1-3 years’ experience in transportation, equipment coordination, or logistics in the shipping industry.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Proficiency in computer applications and software related to logistics and transportation.
  • Knowledge of regulatory requirements in the shipping and logistics industry.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
  • Attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
