Job Purpose:

The Medical Oncologist at the Hospital specializes in diagnosing and treating cancer patients. This role exists to provide expert medical care, develop treatment plans, and support cancer

patients and their families throughout their journey.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Diagnose and treat patients with various forms of cancer.
  • Develop personalized treatment plans.
  • Collaborate with oncology multidisciplinary teams for comprehensive care.
  • Stay updated on the latest advancements in oncology.
  • Provide emotional support and education to patients and families.
  • Participate in clinical trials and research.
  • Mentor junior medical staff.
  • Any other duty that may be assigned from time to time.

    Qualifications and Requirements

  • Master’s degree in Internal Medicine or equivalent specialization from an institution recognized by the Kenya Medical Practitioners’ and Dentists’ Council.
  • Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery degree from a recognized institution by the Kenya Medical Practitioners’ and Dentists’ Council.
  • Served for a minimum period of nine (9) years relevant work, five (5) of which should have been in a Management position.
  • Evidence of having taken a leadership course.
  • Retention in the Kenya Medical Practitioners’ and Dentists’ Council register.
  • Registration with the Kenya Medical Practitioners’ and Dentists’ Council.
  • Recognition as a specialist or sub-specialist by the Kenya Medical Practitioners’ and Dentists’

    Council.
  • Valid Practice License from the Kenya Medical Practitioners’ and Dentists’ Council.
  • Professional Insurance Indemnity Cover.
  • Proficiency in computer applications.
  • Fulfilled the requirement of Chapter Six (6) of the Constitution of Kenya, 2010.
