Uganda Cancer Institute Plumber Jobs
Job Purpose:
To provide basic technical support services on matters of Plumbing and Engineering in line with the mandate of the Institute
Qualification:
Must have a Diploma in Water and Sanitation Engineering from a recognized Institution,
Advanced Certificate in Plumbing, or a Trade test – Level III Craftsman Certificate.
Key competencies required for the post:
The incumbent should have competencies in technical repair and artisan skills, Ability to work for long hours, highly developed technical and mechanical skills, have exceptional communication skills, problem-solving skills, Ability to work under pressure and good with strict deadlines, integrity and concern for standards; and results oriented.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Respond to, diagnose, and resolve plumbing emergencies.
Install and maintain water supply systems
Conduct basic plumbing, drainage maintenance and repair works.
Advise pre-qualified maintenance firms on the Statement of Works and scope of the works /project to be undertaken
Collaborate with contracted firms to ensure work orders are executed within the framework contracts.
Prepare lists and cost estimates for the purchase of necessary tools, equipment and plumbing materials for inclusion in the departmental budget.
Monitor water metre readings and verify water bills for accuracy before submitting for payment.
Perform any other duties as may be assigned from time to time
