Position Summary:

The successful candidate will provide technical support in the planning and implementation of HIV activities across supported facilities. He/she will be responsible for mentoring Health care workers for improved HIV/ART service delivery and HIV prevention activities at the health facilities.

He/She will work closely with the department focal persons to develop innovative evidence-based interventions to support effective service delivery for HIV prevention, care, and treatment services for paediatric, adolescent, and adult clients.

Key Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Ensure adherence to MoH/PEPFAR standards for HIV care and treatment/PMTCT service delivery.
  • Develop and submit periodic activity work plans and reports to key stakeholders.
  • Monitor comprehensive HIV care implementation at health facilities in line with targets.
  • Participate in Switch meetings.
  • Support data collection, analysis, and validation for program monitoring.
  • Prepare and submit timely, accurate reports to relevant authorities.
  • Implement HIV care policies and guidelines introduced by the Ministry of Health and PEPFAR.
  • Represent MUWRP PEPFAR programs at facility and district levels as assigned.
  • Engage in research activities, CQI, and monitor QI projects, data collection, and reporting.
  • Ensure availability of necessary ARVs, commodities, and supplies for HIV service delivery.
  • Present periodic findings in case conferences and continuous medical education sessions.
  • Coordinate with CBOs and community structures supporting HIV/AIDS care services.
  • Perform other assigned duties.

    Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

  • Must have a Diploma in Clinical Medicine and Community Health or its equivalent from a recognized Institution.
  • Must be registered and licensed with the Allied Health Professionals Council
  • Training in the Uganda HIV Prevention, care and treatment guidelines 2020
  • At least two years of experience in HIV programming  

    Personal attributes & physical ability

  • Ability to maintain confidentiality
  • Ability to communicate in English and Luganda.
  • Able to travel on water
  • Ability to permanently reside in any of the MUWRP supported districts of Kayunga, Mukono, Buikwe and Buvuma.
