World Vision Kenya Research, Development and Learning Intern Jobs
Job Purpose
The role, located in the East Africa regional office, intends to influence development and use of needs-based research and information for knowledge building, generation and sharing by building the capacity of young professionals following on intentional capacity building and coaching sessions, integrated with their journey in Christianity.
More so, the role shall work closely with the Strategy and Programme Quality department, with the support and coaching of the Monitoring and Evaluation Advisor, and in collaboration with other unit teams and leaders to support in the implementation and tracking of the partnership/regional office learning agenda.
The role shall support, in collaboration with other units, in re-designing and updating the World Vision International intranet (wvcentral) with up-to-date communications, impact and strategic information; tracking the implementation of Box project for timely document updates that would ensure ease of access and collaboration within (and across) teams.
The role will work closely with the regional M&E Advisor in ensuring implementation of quality research and generation of timely analysis on context (desired topics) enabling learning and agility in programming. Such information will be used in the development of proposals and for pitching by the Regional Leader and the Senior Leadership Team.
Major Responsibilities
Support documentation and learning
Supporting mapping of NO and regional researches in line with Research Agenda and Plans
Supporting the development of summary research findings with the related offices and/or units
Reviewing research and learning reports for quality and compliance to set standards
Conducting research on various topics and subjects as assigned including in providing data on indicators of interest
Documenting research recommendations and track their implementation enabling agility in programming
Providing technical support for quality research where appropriate
Supporting in packaging learning information and publications
Supporting quality documentation of regional learning forums
Support review, updating and tracking Knowledge Management platforms
Providing technical support in content development in the Strategy and Programme Quality and other departments
Supporting in the review of files and resources updated in Knowledge Management platforms, ensuring their quality and usability.
Collaborating with Knowledge Management Champions in updating resources on related KM platforms
Supporting the design and review of the Knowledge Management site (i.e., in wvcentral)
Tracking the implementation of Knowledge Management in line with the Critical to Quality framework
Supporting in setting up and managing Box folder structures and naming in compliance to the WVI EARO Knowledge Management Protocol
Support capacity building
Providing technical support in the use of Box and other Knowledge Management platforms including wvcentral, MS Teams, and Onedrive amongst others
Supporting staff orientation on the use of KM platforms
Others
Adherence to Ethical and Regulatory Standards: Following ethical guidelines, ensuring research practices align with established standards and regulations.
Perform any other duty as may be assigned by supervisor or designee from time to time
Participate and contribute in committees and task forces as may be signed from time to time
Knowledge/ Qualifications for the Role
Required Professional Experience
Bachelor’s Degree in research related courses including but not limited to: Statistics, Economics, Data Science, Project Management or in any related field of study.
Demonstrate ability to integrating Faith and development in work and life
Required Education, training, license, registration, and certification
Must have good interpersonal and communication skills.
Must be well respected in society for Christian values and professionalism.
Good knowledge and commitment to WV’s ethos, philosophy of work and CORE documents.
Demonstrated Leadership skills evidenced by previous leadership roles in a church, Christian Union and/or para church organization.
Must possess sound biblical beliefs.
Preferred Knowledge and Qualifications
Strong organizational skills, independent judgment, and the ability to be flexible as the demands and priorities change.
Commitment to continuous learning and willingness to keep abreast of new developments in the field of development.
Strong interpersonal skills, as well as written and verbal communication skills.
Graduates who are practicing Christians from bible believing and recognized church or fellowship.
Graduates who are willing to commit their time on the program for the entire year.
Graduates with demonstrated good character, honesty, high competency and generally in good physical and emotional health.
