Main Purpose of the Job
To assist in Built Environment Planning and development in Uganda
Duties and Responsibilities
To assist Principal Spatial Planner-Built Environment to:
Develop and implement division Work Plans, Budgets and timely reporting
Participate in the development and implementation of the National Environment Action Planning
Participate in the development and implementation of Local Governments and Urban Authorities’ Environment Action Plans
Participate in preparation of the State of Environment Reports for Uganda
Effectively contribute to development and management of the Environment Information Management System
Coordinate with other departments to ensure that all matters relevant toBuiltEnvironment are mainstreamed
Support and promote applied research on best practices for management of builtenvironment
Support public awareness and education about built environment planningandcoordination
Supervise and appraise staff
Perform any other official duties as may be assigned by the Supervisor
Qualifications::
An Honors Bachelor of Science Degree in the relevant field of Environment and Natural Resources Management or Engineering or Land use Planning
Competences and Skills::
Excellent scientific analytical skills
Strategic planning knowledge and skills
Conservation planning knowledge and skills
Knowledge of green development and cleaner production
Leadership, team building and supervision skills
Strong interpersonal, communication and negotiation skills
Good understanding of mitigation hierarchy
Financial and Human Resource management skills
Excellent scholarly writing, publication and presentation skills
Resource Mobilization skills
Risk Management skills
Command of excellent Information Communication Technology skills
