Duties and Responsibilities

Duties and responsibilities will be to:-

  • Assess and conduct preliminary reviews of potential breaches of the ADAK Anti-Doping Rules and Anti-Doping Act of Kenya;
  • Ensure the quality of input of information into the relevant database systems
  • Participate in team investigations and analysis projects;
  • Interview or coordinate the interviewing of athletes, athlete support personnel and officials who are suspected or charged with a breach of the ADAK Anti-Doping Rules and Anti-Doping Act of Kenya;
  • Review and evaluate information collected or to be collected in the course of an investigation and propose potential courses of action;
  • Identify patterns, links, networks, behavioural commonalities amongst the athletics community that indicate doping, or other potential violations of the law,
  • Record and track information/evidence collected and actions taken in the course of investigations;
  • Work with the Results Management team in investigating substantial assistance applications and potential non- Analytical Anti-Doping Rule Violations ( ADRVs) in doping-related cases;
  • Work with the Testing Team, feeding in intelligence and analytical outputs to develop intelligence-driven target-testing;
  • Work with the Education Team feeding in developments and trends relating to the athletics community;
  • Identify, develop and maintain a network of contacts and processing information obtained in a sensitive and confidential way;
  • Develop and maintain extensive knowledge of doping-related science and medical information, in particular keeping current with doping substances, methods and prevalence of doping in all Athletics disciplines; and
  • Prepare investigation reports.

    Requirements for Appointment

    For appointment to this grade, a candidate must have:-

  • Bachelor’s Degree in any of the following disciplines: – Physical Education, Sports Science or Leisure and Recreation Management from a recognized institution;

    OR

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Social Sciences with a Post-Graduate Diploma in Sports Administration and Management from a recognized institution;

    OR

  • Bachelor’s Degree in criminology and criminal justice or equivalent qualification with a Post-Graduate Diploma in Sports Administration and Management from a recognized institution;
  • Knowledge of sport environment and practice ;
  • Strong communication skills, both in compiling written reports and making oral presentations;
  • Ability to handle and manage strictly confidential information;
  • At least five (5) years’ experience in a related field; and
  • Proficiency in use of computer applications.
