The International Labour Organization (ILO) is currently seeking applications from the eligible applicants for the post of National Project Coordinator in Philippines. The duration of this post is 12 months.

The mission of the ILO is to promote rights at work, encourage decent employment opportunities, enhance social protection and strengthen dialogue on work-related issues.

Key Job Responsibilities

The National Project Coordinator will perform the following functions:

  • Lead the project and ensure its timely implementation, adopting a results-based approach through management functions, including provision of technical and administrative supervision to the project team in line with the ILO policy, rules and regulations and in accordance with the final project document.
  • Maintain close cooperation and coordination with government, employers’ and workers’ organizations both at the national and local levels in the planning and implementation of activities under the project.
  • Establish a coordination mechanism of the project on the basis of any existing mechanism of economic and employment recovery and engaging LGUs and key local stakeholders including relevant national government agencies (NGAs), workers and employers of the prioritized sectors and organizations of the informal economy.
  • Establish effective linkages with relevant projects and activities of the ILO to secure necessary technical inputs from them and generate synergies.
  • Assist the target LGUs in developing and implementing an action plan on the integrated, digitalized and sector-based formalization approach to the informal economy.
  • Ensure high-level communications to increase project’s visibility at the national and international levels. This includes the responsibility to liaise with the UN country team, and other key stakeholders to ensure effective coordination with relevant national strategies and related technical projects.

Eligibility Criteria

  • University Degree in economics, social sciences, or related field and strong knowledge on development issues particularly in the Philippines.
  • 2 year’s experience in project management, supervision, administration and implementation of grant/cooperative agreement requirements.
  • Project experiences with UN agencies is an advantage.
  • Experience in assessment or interventions on enterprise formalization and/or social protection.
  • Experiences in the shortlisted sectors will be an advantage.
  • Experiences in the e-government initiatives will be an advantage.
  • Excellent command of English in both speaking and writing.
  • Proficiency in Filipino is an advantage.
