Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) is currently seeking applications from the eligible applicants for the post of National Project Assistant in Kiev, Ukraine. The duration of this post is 12 months.

Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) is a specialized agency of the United Nations that leads international efforts to defeat hunger.

Key Job Responsibilities

The National Project Assistant will perform the following functions-

  • Provide logistical support to the Project and project’s consultants in conducting different project activities (workshops, stakeholder consultations, arrangements of field visits, etc.)
  • Support remotely or in the field the preparation and implementation of farming community surveys related to needs assessment/beneficiary impact assessment, damage and loss assessment, consisting of the formulation of sampling, the development / ad hoc translation of questionnaires and interpretation of meetings, in cooperation with the technical staff and Agronomist and Community Liaison Specialists.
  • Assist in the preparation of logistics, materials, and resources for workshops and training sessions.
  • Assist in organizing and coordinating the procurement of services and goods under the project, contribute to the development of procurement plans, including preparation of technical specifications, identification of possible suppliers through market research.
  • In coordination with the Project Manager, guide the work of consultants and subcontractors and oversee compliance with the agreed work plan;
  • Contribute to project progress reports, prepare meeting agenda, minutes and other documentation as required.
  • Perform any other related duties and activities as required.

Eligibility Criteria

Applicant must have:

  • University degree in business administration or related fields;
  • At least 3 years of experience in programme/administration;
  • Experience in the usage of computers and office software packages (MS Word, Excel, etc);
  • Previous experience in the agriculture sector is considered an asset.
  • Excellent working knowledge of English language
  • Nationality of Ukraine.
