Qualifications Required

The following qualifications are required;

  • Bachelor of Science in Clinical Medicine and Community Health from a University accredited or

    recognized in Kenya. Plus three (3) years post internship working experience.
  • Registered with the Clinical Officer’s Council.

    OR
  • Higher diploma in Clinical Medicine and surgery in any of the relevant specialties e.g. Pediatrics, ENT, Anesthesia, Ophthalmology, Skin and Chest etc. from a learning institution

    recognized in Kenya plus five (5) years cumulative working experience.
  • Registered with the Clinical Officer’s Council.

    OR
  • Bachelor of Science in Clinical Medicine and Community Health, or Clinical Medicine & Surgery

    with Environmental health and Counseling Psychology from a learning institution recognized in Kenya.

    OR

  • Higher diploma in Clinical Medicine and surgery in any of the relevantspecialties e.g.

    Pediatrics, ENT, Anesthesia, Ophthalmology, Skin and Chest etc. from a learning institution

    recognized in Kenya.
  • Three years working experience as a Clinical Officer II.

  • Analytical skills

    Duties and Responsibilities

    Reporting to the head of department, the main duties will include:

  • Examining patients
  • Screening of patients for referral
  • Diagnosing and treating patient ailments
  • Planning and conducting community healthcare activities
  • Health education to patients.
  • Professional guidance to health staff.
  • Handling filtered and referred patients according to his/her specialty
  • Any other duties that may be assigned by the supervisor.
