Summary of Role:

The position looks for a results-driven and ethical accountant with strong analytical skills to manage and improve the efficiency of the organization. The accountant will be responsible for the management and reporting of financial data of the company, Including preparing financial statements, examining and analyzing a company’s accounts and ensuring compliance with financial reporting and other standard accounting procedures.

The role works within the parameters of well-defined financial policies, processes and procedures. Supports the monthly and quarterly reporting to management and donors, which involves collating, validating and analyzing data and financial information in line with established finance and reporting procedures

Responsibilities

  • Complying with all company, local, state, and federal accounting and financial regulations.
  • Compiling, analyzing, and reporting financial data.
  • Liaising with auditors during internal & external audits.
  • Ensure timely, accurate month-end closing and financial reporting to Management
  • Responsible for preparation and closing of monthly and annual financial statements
  • Responsible for accounting processes and tasks (i.e.: AP & AR process, GL, account reconciliation, etc.)
  • Coordinate and liaise with internal parties to support intercompany activities
  • Support forecasting and budgeting exercise as per corporate guidelines
  • Preparing activity budgets for different workshops.
  • Preparing financial forecasts and budgets
  • Responding to Donors request for clarifications
  • Reinforce financial data confidentiality and conduct database backups when necessary.
  • Ensuring the accuracy of financial documents, as well as their compliance with relevant laws and regulations
  • Preparing and maintaining companywide as well project financial reports as per donor requirements
  • Assist with procurement, ensuring that activity is in line with approved procurement ceilings and procedures. This includes supporting the sourcing and analysis of quotes to ensure the company gets value for money, following up with suppliers and maintaining procurement files and transactions.
  • Any other related duty as may be assigned from time to time.

    Qualifications/ Skills/ Experience

  • Proven working experience as an accountant.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting.
  • 5 years working experience.
  • Hold a CPA title in good standing.
  • High degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Hands-on experience on spreadsheets tools such as; Excel.
  • Strong attention to detail and good analytical skills.
  • Strong Communication and organizational skills
