Job Details:
Quality Plastics is seeking Inventory Manager to lead the Inventory and Stores department. The Inventory Manager will oversee the Stores department to efficiently manage the ordering, stocking, storing and issuing inventory for production and customer deliveries. Evaluate deliveries, shipments, and product levels to improve inventory control procedures. This is a full-time role, on-site position located in Mukono.
Key Responsibilities:
• Inventory Management: Oversee the efficient and accurate management of all inventory across the three factories, including raw materials, finished goods and spare parts.
• Inventory Control: Implement and maintain inventory control procedures to ensure optimal levels of inventory are maintained while minimizing excess or obsolete stock.
• Stock Replenishment: Coordinate with procurement and production departments to ensure timely replenishment of inventory to meet production demands without causing delays or stockouts.
• Warehouse Management: Supervise the warehouse operations, including receiving, storing, and dispatching of goods, ensuring adherence to safety and quality standards.
• Inventory Accuracy: Conduct regular stock counts and audits to ensure inventory accuracy, investigating and resolving discrepancies as needed.
• Inventory Reporting: Generate regular reports on inventory levels, stock movements, and inventory performance metrics for management review and decision-making and present the same to respective departments and management.
• Vendor Management: Liaise with procurement to resolve issues related to supplier deliveries, quality, or discrepancies in orders.
• Process Improvement: Continuously identify opportunities to streamline inventory processes, improve efficiency, and reduce costs without
compromising quality or service levels.
• Staff management & motivation: Hiring and training inventory/ stores clerks and warehouse staff, training and development of staff to meet the objectives. Assessing staff performance as may be required by the HR department.
• Storage of spares: Co-ordinating with the Engineering department to ensure all spare parts in store are correctly identified with specifications.
Qualifications
• Bachelor’s Degree in Inventory management, Supply Chain management, Logistics or Business Administration
• Minimum 5 years of experience in related field required with managerial experience is a plus
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
• Ability to accurately track inventory and create reports
• Excellent knowledge of data analysis and forecasting methods
• Strong analytical, supervisory and leadership skills
• Proactive critical thinking
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software
