Job Description
To ensure that the bank adheres to external regulatory requirements and internal policies, managing risks and promoting compliance within the organisation in line with the Enterprise Risk Management Framework and the Compliance Governance standard.
Qualifications
Type of Qualification: First Degree in Legal
Field of Study: Legal
Experience Required
3-4 years’ experience in legal practice, bank processes, products and systems. Experience in dealing with different stakeholders at different levels both internal and external.
3-4 years’ experience in compliance risk related activity eg Regulatory Risk Management in areas such as Money Laundering and Combatting Financing of Terrorism, Data Privacy, adherence to Internal Compliance Policies & Procedures.
Responsibilities:
Governance:
To collate all the regulatory monitoring and reporting packs for Compliance across the various segments for timely submission to relevant governance forums.
To monitor regulatory changes and assess their impact on the bank through quality assurance and regulatory gap analysis to ensure embedment of controls required to comply with new obligations.
To update compliance risk assessments and conduct reviews in line with the compliance monitoring methodology.
Regulatory & Strategy:
To manage regulatory inspections and examinations processes and ensure remediation of issues arising.
To manage the regulatory obligations tracker to ensure that the bank submits on time.
Manage all regulatory interactions, advocacy in line with the bank’s regulatory interaction guidelines.
Stay abreast of, identify and report / escalate on any new and emerging trends in the legislative and regulatory environment, any product issues or any risks.
Validation of all issues identified from Gap assessment and monitoring reviews carried out for laws and compliance related policies to ensure the right obligations have been identified, the right controls have been designed and embedded for all gaps identified.
