Future Rural Africa Female Researcher’s Grant
Applications are now open for the 2024 Future Rural Africa Female Researcher’s Grant.
The aim of the grant is to support female researchers from the Global South at an early stage of their career. Applications from female scientists from the African partner countries of the Collaborative Research Centre (CRC) “Future Rural Africa” are strongly encouraged. Applications from natural sciences, social science, as well as arts and humanities are welcome.
The grant contributes directly to the mission for capacity building of the CRC-TRR 228, and is designed to enable female researchers to expand their network and develop expertise. Funding is available for creative scientific ideas that connect to the research topics of the CRC and have not yet been covered in the scientific programme of the CRC.
Thereby, the recipient of the grant will enrich the research carried out by the CRC by adding new perspectives and innovative conclusions. The CRC can increase its visibility and outreach through the grant. Furthermore, the members of the CRC can profit from the newly built cooperations.
The CRC is oriented around the broad themes of social-ecological change, conservation, and shaping the future of Africa. Here, research focuses on processes of conservation, intensification, and infrastructuring in five priority countries: Kenya, Namibia, Tanzania, Zambia, and Botswana. Please check the research centre’s website for more information on its scope, concepts, and goals.
