The International Labour Organization (ILO) is currently seeking applications from the eligible applicants for the post of Junior Project Coordinator in Chisinau, Moldova. The duration of this post is 1 year.

Key Job Responsibilities

The Junior Project Coordinator will perform the following functions:

  • Support the day-to-day implementation and administration of project activities following the guidance of the Senior Project Coordinator and in conformity with project objectives and in close collaboration and coordination with the DWT/CO-Budapest and the ILO National Coordinator, project partners, international and national experts and ILO constituents.
  • Identify difficulties or any change or development in the country that may be relevant for the project and take appropriate measures in consultation with the team to ensure timely fulfilment of all obligations and timely delivery of the project outputs.
  • Ensure administrative tasks related to the project are conducted according to ILO’s rules and procedures (for meetings, purchase of goods and services, hiring collaborators, etc…).
  • Ensure proper consultation and participation of ILO constituents and other project partners at the country level during the project implementation phases. In particular, ensure that gender issues be explicitly addressed and mainstreamed throughout the project activities and any outputs including final reports or events.
  • Monitor progress (updating of M&E plan), assist in programming and budgeting.
  • Draft the project work plan according to the project objectives as indicated in the project document and update as necessary.
  • Assist the Senior Project Coordinator in the preparation of periodic progress reports and the final project report for the DWT/CO-Budapest and the donor.

Eligibility Criteria

Applicants must have:

  • First level university degree in economics, public policies, development studies or a relevant field.
  • Advanced degree on studies on labour economics would be a strong advantage.
  • At least one year of professional experience at the national level in project management, implementation, monitoring and evaluation. Proven experience in TVET, formalization of employment, the construction sector and policy advice to government would be an asset.
  • Good knowledge of labour economics, labour law, as well as economic developments, working conditions, poverty reduction, and social policies.
  • Knowledge of the policy making process.
  • Excellent knowledge of the working language of the duty station and a good knowledge of English.
