Vihiga County Geologist Jobs in Kenya
Duties and responsibilities
Reporting to the Director Water and Sanitation, the responsibility of the geologist will be to:
Plan and collect surface and groundwater data and analyse to derive information that will support projects and programs;
Work with local agencies on water resource issues;
Conduct watershed and storm water studies;
Process meteorological and geologic data;
Prepare various maps and figures, including: contour maps _ of groundwater elevations, geologic structure, cross-sections, isopach, water quality, and other hydrogeological data;
Provide timely reports on the nature and extent of surface water and ground water contamination;
Prepare relevant periodic reports Install, use and maintain geological and water quality instrumentation;
Perform any other responsibility as assigned by your immediate supervisor
Requirement for appointment
For appointment to this grade, a candidate should:
Be a Kenyan Citizen;
Possess a minimum qualification of Geoscience with a Bachelors’ Degree in Geotechnical a Hydrogeology, concentration in hydrologeolocal or ground water science;
Have relevant experience of minimum of 3 years;
Possess a practicing License;
Satisfy the requirement of Chapter six of the constitution of Kenya 2010 on leadership and integrity:
Must have computer skills.
