Communications Authority of Kenya Deputy Director Supply Chain Management Jobs in Kenya
Job Specification
Duties and Responsibilities at this level shall entail:
Assist in planning, organizing, and coordinating Supply Chain Management
activities;
Assist in developing and reviewing procurement policies and strategies;
Coordinating the preparation and implementation of the procurement manual and
procedures;
Coordinating the process of disposal of unserviceable, obsolete, and surplus stores
and equipment;
Monitoring supplier’s performance to assess ability to meet quality and delivery
requirements;
Coordinating periodic market research and surveys are conducted;
Assist in negotiation efforts in major contracts;
Initiate preparation of contract documents
Assist in the implementation and effective use of the e-procurement system;
Ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements and ethical standards relating
to the procurement of goods, services, and works;
Ensuring timely procurement of goods, services and works;
Coordinating the implementation of the procurement plan;
Consolidating procurement budgets and plans;
Ensuring safe custody of procured goods;
Coordinating preparation and maintenance of assets register, transfer, and
valuation;
Coordinating periodic stock taking and stock audit is conducted;
Assist in coordinating the preparation of statutory reports and
Managing and developing staff.
Person Specification
For appointment to this grade, a person must have:
At least ten (10) years of related work experience with at least three (3) years
experience in a management role;
Bachelor’s degree in any of the following disciplines: Procurement and Supply
Chain Management; Purchasing and Supplies Management; Supply Chain
Management; Procurement and Contract Management; Logistics and Supply Chain
Management; Procurement and Logistics Management, Social Science / Business
Administration, Economics, Physical Science, or equivalent qualification from a recognized
institution;
Masters degree in any of the following disciplines: – Procurement, Logistics, and
Supply Chain Management; Business Administration, Physical Science, or
equivalent qualification from a recognized institution;
Management Course lasting not less than four (4) weeks from a recognized
institution;
Professional qualification and membership of Kenya Institute of Supplies
Management (KISM) where applicable; and
Fulfilled the requirements of Chapter Six (6) of the Constitution of Kenya.
