Summit Recruitment & Search Branch Manager: Retail Jobs in Nairobi – Kenya
Responsibilities
Drive sales growth by monitoring daily performance against targets and optimizing merchandise displays.
Lead and motivate the team through daily meetings, setting clear targets, and ensuring effective performance incentives.
Manage product margins through regular review of Goods Received Notes (GRNs) and strategic promotional planning.
Ensure strict inventory control with daily stock checks, weekly expiry monitoring, and quarterly branchwide audits.
Maintain high stock availability (95%+) on key products through efficient Local Purchase Order (LPO) management and collaboration with the Supply Chain team.
Optimize category performance by analyzing sales data weekly and adjusting product assortment to achieve under 60 days of stock.
Ensure financial liquidity by overseeing daily cash and weekly payment reconciliations, maintaining creditor days below 30, and managing supplier relationships effectively.
Qualifications
Must have a bachelor’s degree in business administration, Retail Management, or a related field preferred.
At least 5 Years experience in retail management, ideally within the cosmetics or FMCG industry.
Must have strong communication skills with proficiency in English (both verbal and written).
Strong leadership skills with a track record of managing and motivating teams to achieve sales targets.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities to manage margins and inventory effectively.
Familiarity with retail operations including stock management, promotional strategies, and customer service best practices.
Financial acumen with experience in cash handling, reconciliation, and managing financial metrics.
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with a focus on continuous improvement and operational efficiency.
Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays, as per retail operation needs.
Knowledge of local market trends and customer preferences in the cosmetics industry is a plus.
Somali speaking candidates are preferred.
