U.S. Embassy & Consulates Maintenance Inspector Jobs in South Africa
Duties
Reviews facility maintenance projects to ensure conformance with design/shop drawings and the contract terms.
Monitors projects progress at field site and prepares reports on work progress.
Inspects all contract and preventive maintenance projects to ensure the results are in compliance with contractual requirements.
Serves as a project inspector and assists Project Manager with project management for all Embassy Pretoria government-owned facilities.
Uses Office suite, databases, and a variety of technical equipment in order to support functional and residential project inspection reports for the Senior Facility Manager.
Serves as the Contracting Officer Represented (COR) and or Government Technical Monitor (GTM) for some Facilities Post managed projects and recommends approval of shop drawings and submittals; when necessary maintains a daily log of project progress; suggests change orders including preparing cost estimates; and other projects as directed by the Facility Manager.
The Facilities (FAC) Office is a 24/7 operation, and all personnel are required to be available after hours and weekends, as needed in emergency situations and will be expected to act as Facility Duty Officer, as assigned.

Three years’ experience in construction, architecture or facility maintenance field is required.
