Brief Description

Principal Accountabilities (Responsibility)
Plan training (base, simulator or route) in accordance with the relevant approved syllabi. Produce a written programme to all concerned stipulating the details of the plan.
Research and make recommendations on new training projects and training aids.
Revise the syllabi and other training material where necessary, and in consultation with the subject matter specialists where appropriate.
Ensuring that accurate training records are maintained concerning the training and checking of all subordinate pilots in conformity with legal requirements.
Conduct or supervise the conduct of the ground or flying training (base or route) according to the flying programme and syllabi.
In consultation with the Fleet Manager, compile revisions of syllabi and other training material where necessary.
Monitoring of Instructors annually to ensure standardization requirements are met.
Recommend to Fleet Manager on issues of promotions and increments of flight crew and instructors so as to support management decisions.
Help to investigate and determine, in collaboration with Flight Safety Manager, incidents/accidents in order to prevent recurrence.
Ensure routine monitoring of safety, security and quality critical activities and ongoing conformity with all regulatory requirements, organization standards and local procedures.
Ensure corrective and preventative actions identified by quality and safety audits, investigations or other internal reporting mechanisms are undertaken within the agreed time frame.
Reporting regularly to the Head of Training on all significant training matters and recommending any changes to in fleet policy and operation, which might be advantageous.
Ensure and maintain a healthy, safe and secure working environment in compliance with the relevant industry, regulatory and legislative requirements, company procedures, regulatory authorities and requirements of customer airlines.
Qualification (Minimum)
Current Airline Transport Licence (ATPL) with appropriate ratings.
Qualified in the respective fleet.
Holder of O level or higher.
Senior Captain
Rated instructor.
Additional Qualifications
IT skills
Three (3) years’ experience as Pilot-in -command in commercial air transport operations.
Other Skills
Fleet Operations Management.
