Ministry of Health Electrical Technician-Incinerator Operator Jobs in Uganda
Overall Responsibility:
As an Electrical Technician responsible for incinerator operations, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the efficient and safe operation of our incinerator facility. Your primary focus will be to oversee the electrical systems, perform preventive maintenance, troubleshoot electrical issues, and collaborate with the operations team to optimize incineration processes
Specific Duties and Responsibilities
Electrical System Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance and inspections of electrical systems and components to ensure their functionality and safety.
Troubleshooting: Diagnose and troubleshoot electrical issues, identify root causes, and implement effective solutions to minimize downtime.
Calibration and Testing: Conduct regular calibration and testing of electrical instruments and control systems to maintain accuracy and reliability.
Control System Operation: Monitor and operate the incinerator’s electrical control systems, ensuring proper functionality and making adjustments as necessary.
Preventive Maintenance: Develop and implement a preventive maintenance schedule for electrical equipment to prevent breakdowns and optimize performance.
Emergency Response: Respond promptly to electrical system emergencies and provide technical support to resolve critical issues.
Collaboration: Work closely with the incinerator operations team to ensure seamless integration of electrical and mechanical systems for optimal facility performance.
Documentation: Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, equipment status, and electrical modifications. Create reports as necessary. ix. Compliance: Ensure that all electrical systems and procedures comply with safety regulations, environmental standards, and relevant industry codes.
Training: Provide training and guidance to other staff members on electrical safety and operation procedures.
Qualifications and experience
National Diploma in Electrical Engineering or Ordinary Diploma in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from a reputable Technical Institute/College or University
Experience of atleast 2-years in equipment repairs, service and maintenance
This role involves physical tasks, including standing, bending, and lifting, and may require working in varying environmental conditions
