The Academy is seeking to recruit a motivated Learning Support Teacher who will assist students with learning support needs

Key Responsibilities:

To assist students with their educational needs focusing on abilities and attainment potential of individual students entrusted to his /her care by the parent.

To monitor and support the overall progress and development of students with learning support needs.

To support to design and implement a comprehensive learning support database.

To develop and foster skills and social ability to enable the optimum development of pupils.

To work as a team –member within the wider school staff and liaising with other relevant individuals of learning support team and the section heads.

To mentor and train the teachers on the specific learning needs of students.

Person Specification:

Essential Qualification and Experience:

Possess a Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Special Need Education.

A minimum of 2-3 years of teaching experience with exposure to the British National Curriculum in IGCSE, ‘A’ Level.  

Training in English and any other subject will be a necessity including experience in Literacy skills under BNC.

Experience in Mathematics (Numeracy) will be an added advantage.

Ability to use ICT in effective Curriculum Delivery.

Desirable:

Possess: A TSC registration Certificate.

Must be a committed individual who is passionate to work with students.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with parents, staff and students.

Knowledge and understanding of current trends in teaching and learning practices.
