Role Purpose:
The Group EPC Manager-Renewables oversees the planning, design, installation, and maintenance of solar energy projects throughout the African and Middle Eastern Regions. This includes conducting site assessments, and feasibility studies, and overseeing the construction and commissioning of the projects.
Furthermore, this role will collaborate with cross-functional teams from project managers, engineering, procurement, contractors, and vendors to ensure that projects are completed within budget, on time, and to the desired quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Collaborate with the senior management team to devise and implement a solar EPC strategy for the African and Middle Eastern regions.
Supervise multiple solar EPC projects in coordination with country Construction/Engineering teams, overseeing the entire project cycle from planning to completion, ensuring adherence to budget, time, and quality standards.
Cultivate relationships with critical stakeholders, including clients, suppliers, and partners, and maintain them.
Manage project budgets, schedules, and resources, and ensure compliance with applicable regulations, standards, and safety requirements.
Lead and manage the country EPC managers.
Provide technical and engineering support for project development and tenders, covering areas such as interconnection, off-take, site assessments, design options, cost estimates, and risk analysis/mitigation.
Keep current with the most recent industry trends and technologies.
Profile:
Bachelor’s or master’s degree in engineering or related field.
At least 10 years of experience in solar EPC project management/construction, with a track record of successfully delivering On Grid, Off Grid and Hybrid Solar Projects in the C&I space.
Experience in managing Utility scale EPC Projects will be a plus.
Strong technical knowledge of solar PV systems, including system design and installation.
Experience in PV-Diesel + Battery Storage projects.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire team members.
Strong problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues.
Willingness to travel extensively.
