Job Summary
Reporting to Assistant Manager, Capital & Energy Planning, the job holder is responsible for the following duties and responsibilities: –
Duties & Responsibilities
Carry out financial and economic analysis of KenGen’s proposed projects for redevelopment and/or new capacity expansion and advise on economic and financial viability using internationally acceptable measures and standards.
Actively participate in the power planning function, both at the Company and the Energy Sector Level, supporting the teams with critical data and information inputs at micro and macro level.
Prepare projects proposals/concepts for identified investment projects suitable for implementation.
Actively participate in the Corporate strategic and business planning function while providing critical data and information on the macro-economic environment.
In liaison with ICT Division, maintain statistical (technical, economic and financial) database for the company.
Carry out data collection, collation and analysis using statistical/mathematical techniques and models.
Monitor and carry out trend analysis and report on performance using Key Performance Indicators (KPIS) and other ratios to assist the management in making critical decisions in a competitive business environment.
Provide support towards development, analysis and review of company and sector policies in the company and in the Energy Sector.
Preparing the Division Monthly Report, and balance score card, tracking and monitoring the performance of the Division targets on a monthly basis.
Prepare, monitor and evaluate divisional budget proposals for recurrent and identified projects initiatives, ensuring that the budget is maintained within acceptable limits.
Person Specifications
For appointment to this grade, an officer must have:
Bachelor’s degree in Economics or equivalent qualification from a recognized institution.
CPA (K) will be an added advantage
ICT certification will be an added advantage
Membership to a relevant professional body.
Fulfil the requirements of Chapter Six (6) of Constitution.
Minimum 4 years of relevant experience with 2 years in financial modeling
