Asaak Financial Services Audit and Compliance Assistants Jobs in Uganda
Job Summary:
Carry out audits, reviews, and investigations to deliver opinions on the effectiveness of the controls in line with the departmental guidelines.
Duties and Responsibilities
Assists with the collection and analysis of data as well as preparation of data presentations and reports for information sharing, responding to queries, knowledge management, planning and decision-making in line with departmental guidlines.
Organize and maintain supporting audit working papers, engagement files that support the audit reports submitted to the Audit & Compliance Manager
Participate in scheduled audits and ad hoc investigations at all offices and make appropriate recommendations in line with departmental guidelines
Undertakes research /obtain background information related to the subject to be audited
Reports errors and other findings directly to the Audit and compliance officer
Compile and escalate risks and audit issues to the Audit and compliance officer in line with departmental guidelines.
Participate in debrief sessions upon completion of and during projects to identify lessons learned and enhance future quality and planning
Prepare monthly reports of work done in line with departmental work plans
Provide and coordinate administrative support in line with departmental guidelines
Answer, screen and document telephone calls to the Fraud alert whistle blowing hotline in a professional and timely manner
Travels as part of the audit team to carry out field audit assignments in line with departmental guidelines.
Perform any other duties as assigned by the supervisor from time to time.
Qualifications & Job specifications
The job holder should have:
A bachelor’s degree (honors) in Finance or Accounting
Computer proficiency coupled with a strong understanding of Audit software.
The candidate must have at least 1 year of working relevant experience in a reputable organization.
Must be a team player with excellent communication skills (oral & written) and analytical skills.
He/she should have knowledge of audit procedures (audit-related planning techniques, test & sampling methods and so on).
He/she must be willing to travel upcountry occasionally
