“It’s not you it’s me” What are your thoughts on that classic break up line?

It could be true… might’ve actually dodged a bullet to be honest, or maybe they just have a lot of issues with self to deal with. Still feels like a slap in the fucken face.

I remember when I was a bit younger a girl I dated once told me, “You’re everything a girl could ever want.” As we broke up.

I remember standing there at the time with this stupid look on my face thinking, “Yeah well, I guess I’m just not good enough for you…”

I started smiling & kinda laughing for some reason and walked away as the tears started rolling. That shit really hurt at the time.
