Is it possible for schools to teach kids how to approach politics and discourse responsibly? Why aren’t they succeeding at it currently?

This is just me but one reason my school fail at it with me is that I’m completely discouraged from paying any amount of attention in those classes. The reason is that I’ve noticed that they seem to take any chance they can get to shove personal political opinions down our throats, and as someone who is extremely against that (and I’m very aware that me being in my teenage years makes me easily vulnerable to that) I have just decided to zone out anytime I hear anything political from one of my teachers.
