Imagine removing the first second of something like the Trinity nuclear bomb test. You just erase the entire detonation, poof the bomb just disappears. How would that affect the decision to continue nuclear research and the strategic/tactical use of nuclear weapons? Would we have continued to develop the bomb? How would the rest of WWII have played out? The Cold War? Or would that first test just be an anomaly after they continued and did a second one yielding the expected results?
