Identical twins of Reddit, what is it like to be an identical twin?

For me, it has been great. As children, we were both best friend and one another’s punching bags… now we’re only best friends, luckily. We always had one another’s back, though. People treated us a bit weirdly growing up. Our parents didn’t really compared us, but others did, and I often felt like I was the “worse” twin (it even affects me a bit now and then today.) We had the same nickname in school for some reason, often talked about as a singular being – but that was just a benevolent joke I’m sure, and I didn’t take offense. Our parents valued our individuality, and so did we, so we didn’t wear matching outfits or so, and as soon as I could choose by myself, I let my hair grow out, while my twin kept his hair short – this is true to this day.
