So I am in an area that praises women’s beauty more if they dress showing a lot of skin. Which I am not against. But at the same time, while their beauty is praised they get treated like an object.

I have very large breasts. I’ve barely had any guys take me seriously. So I dress modestly in hopes of being treated with more respect.

But also, I notice that dressing modestly isn’t even seen as attractive! at the very least you get respect more and you don’t really get treated as an object. Which is nice, but it be nice if women could be see as beautiful even when dressed modestly.

I’m aware others will have different experiences and men will objectify regardless of what you wear. But it just feels like such a contradictory thing to be dealing with.

I don’t want to discount anyone’s experience but this has been mine. In a perfect world how we dress shouldn’t matter in terms of deserving respect. We’re all deserving of it.

To anyone who dresses on the modest side, what has been your experience?
