The systems are untested and an ICBM is by no means an easy target. Your best bet is to take it out right at the peak of its parabola and it doesn’t take a hell of a lot to confuse the targeting of the missile you’ve sent to interrupt it. Fill the air with shiny magnetic scrap metal and that’s about it.
