How does having money affect your relationship with your parents?

My father is exceedingly frugal, whilst my mother is a spender. I’d say it’s given me a more balanced attitude to finances. I value conserving money and getting a deal whenever possible, but I also don’t limit myself by never buying something nice. I believe I also have a more generous attitude toward money since I recall how unjust things were when my father was so strict about it.
