The smartest teacher I ever had told us at the beginning of the term that everyone learns differently. It was for a training program, so we saw each other all day, every day. We’d all compare notes on what worked for each individual.
I’d suggest you do the same, get in the habit of talking to ALL your classmates and see what works for them. Some people can sit and read for hours at a time, and others get foggy after an hour. Some people need music to learn, and others need silence.
I work well with one or two people in a study group. Maximum session of three hours, with a couple of breaks. No music.
