How do you define what is timeless and what is trendy in fashion?

For my own wardrobe, timeless is the t shirt I eat my pizza in and wipe my grease stains all over before taking it off when I’m done and blowing my nose into it.

Trendy is what I wear out of the house. Which is not the pizza shirt
