Asian Development Bank (ADB) is currently seeking applications from eligible applicants for the post of Gender Specialist (Gender-based Violence) in Manila, Philippines. The duration of this post is 3 years.

Key Jobs Responsibilities
The Gender Specialist (Gender-based Violence) will perform the following functions-
- Develop and enhance key guidance documents related to prevention, mitigation, and response to SEAH in operations at policy, strategic and business process level.
- Support and guide operations departments on the application of relevant Good Practice Notes (GPNs) and related operational guidance and tools to address SEAH in ADB operations.
- Co-manage corporate SEAH Technical Assistance (TA) in support of implementation of operational approaches to address SEAH in ADB-financed projects and contributes to other GBV/SEAH-related TA projects as appropriate.
- Provide advisory support and technical guidance to operations departments in the design, implementation, and monitoring and reporting of projects with SEAH risks.
- Support operations departments in awareness raising on GBV/SEAH in developing member countries (DMCs), including through policy dialogue with government agencies, women’s machinery, civil society organizations, and other development partners.
- Provide ongoing guidance and mentoring to SEAH TA consultants and SEAH focal points across the Bank.
Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must have:
- Master’s Degree or equivalent in gender, international development, anthropology, sociology, social sciences, or other relevant fields. Alternatively, a university degree in a similar field combined with at least 5 years specialized experience relevant to the position can be considered
- At least 8 years of relevant professional experience in addressing GBV/SEAH, gender and development, social safeguards, or related area, including international experience in several countries.
- Experience or familiarity with MDB policies and procedures for gender mainstreaming and/or social safeguards, including specific experience in GBV/SEAH.
- Experience and knowledge of gender mainstreaming and safeguarding against GBV/SEAH risks in the project cycle (planning / feasibility analysis / detailed design / project implementation, monitoring, and reporting completion / contract management).
- Strong track record and demonstrated capacity to develop knowledge products and services including research, writing reports, and organizing and implementing training.
- Strong project management experience.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks and deliver on time.
- Ability to work collaboratively as a team member in a multicultural environment.
